Time Machine

Oh its such a delight to bump into old friends. Friends who you shared the laughs with, some who cried with you, some who helped you tide over, some one you thought was cute but had no courage to tell him so just said hi...it is always a pleasure:-)
But there's one thing though. Sometimes you realise that you and she have nothing in common but that thread of friendship shared many moons ago. You try very hard to work that enthusiasm back to see the magic happen again. Not always succesful. A friend of mine had a fine analogy (if I can call it so) for such relationships. He said we put memories and people associated with those memories in time capsules. We like to look at them as often as we can but we can never recreate the moment.
He said that many years ago, now he is part of my time capsule and I am guessing I am part of his for our conversations are not the same but always manage to have a good conversation because of the bond we shared back then.
Time capsule or no it is fun to talk about old times (its crazy how much of old times I have to talk about with so many different people...man I am getting ancient!)

thinking out loud...in text I suppose

There comes a point in life when you know you are at the right place at the right time on the right path. You've waited for that precise moment almost all your life. What is one supposed to feel then? Proud? that "I knew all along" or happy? But instead what if one feels scared? What is the fear about? How does one overcome that fear?

Party time!

New Year! New Year! NewYear!
When I was a kid and heard all the hullabaloo about new year I used to get very excited. I didn't know what the big deal was about a new year but since all the grown ups were excited I thought it must be worth getting excited. But come Jan 1st morning and I'd be dissappointed cos it was the same as the previous day! No difference at all. Only I'd have to remember to change the year while writing my notes or homework. But other wise its the same. And as I grew older even that was not happening (Who writes notes in college and that too with dates!!!)
I remembered this as I was planning a party with a friend of mine to welcome the new year (which btw was a blast!). Just then I realised that it was just another excuse to celebrate freedom, friends and relations (with some rum of course).
I also realised that for the past 7 years I have celebrated my new year with V. From the awkward and apprehensive first new year party to absolutely sure and love filled moments - we have come a long way!
So here's to new year. Happy new year gals and guys happy new year :-)

Just a lot of questions.

What makes a person time conscious? How does one make someone look beyond self and respect other people's time? How does one inculcate the habit to keep up with the deadlines in adults? What's the cure for procrastination or for that matter plain laziness? How does one say "you suck" nicely ? How does one tell a mother she is smothering her son with all her love and he's turning out to be a whining baby? How does a husband tell the wife, "give me some space"? How does a wife tell the husband "move your butt" with love? How does a daughter tell the mother "I am fine thank you. stay away" politely?
Another year is going by and I still have no answers to these questions that have bothered me all my adult life. May be its time I give up looking for answers and just stay away from such people. But that's half the world and sometimes inlcudes me - so that's not happening.
Boy how can the year be any different if I am stuck with the same old questions / problems?
